The following short poem was written for a work colleague' forthcoming wedding. The couple, met at a car rally and were both Mini-enthusiasts.
Good Luck Sarah
There's a mini in the car park
its tyres are old and worn
it belongs to Sarah Edwards
but she'll soon be Sarah Bourne
She met her Ron two years ago
at a Mini Car convention
She had flowing locks of golden hair
which soon caught his attention
They got engaged two years ago
and moved into a flat
they share it with the washing up
and a temperamental cat
And now their wedding day is here
we wish them all the best
and hope that Ronald's cooking
doesn't put them under stress
and in those winter evenings
just as Ron removes his pinny
let's just hope, for Sarah's sake
not everything's a Mini....
